A summer with Smart O&M in China and on the Belt & Road

During the summer, the Siveco China team has been busy on many projects in China and overseas. As the world saw a resurgence of Covid-19, affecting travel in parts of China, and more heavily impacting other countries, we continued to try to proactively address our clients’ needs.

As maintenance practitioners, as industrial risk management practitioners, we know a crisis is also a good time for improvement. There will always be reasons to delay improvement projects: high staff turnover, financial crisis, accident, or on the contrary being too busy with plant startup, too busy fulfilling clients orders. In our experience, companies that proactively take action now will emerge stronger than their competitors from the crisis.

In this month’s newsletter, we are happy to share latest news from various clients who took such actions, despite downturns, lockdowns, construction delays and travel constraints. Thanks to all, wishing you all a safe and healthy end of the summer!

Guangdong iron pipes company improves its maintenance management with CMMS

With an expansion of production capacity, a large iron pipes company in Guangdong has put forward higher requirements for maintenance management. After careful consideration of the plant situation, extensive research and comparison of possible solutions, the iron pipes company decided to deploy Siveco China’s CMMS Coswin and the bluebee® mobile solution to improve the plant asset management. The main aim of the project is to help the plant to reduce the failure rate, to increase plant availability and thus production capacity, through the establishment of a complete equipment management system.

The CMMS went fully live in July 2021 and significant downtime reduction has already been obtained during the implementation phase thanks to the systematic implementation of a preventive maintenance program. In the future, Siveco China will keep close cooperation with the company to extend the project to other production areas (e.g. iron making) and help the company manage spare parts.

bluebee® goes live in many more Yingde Gases plants

Since the cooperation between Yingde Gases and Siveco China started in 2019, the EMM system (Coswin) has been implemented to 45 industrial gas plants of Yingde, forming a multi-level management system from group to region to plant. It provides strong support for the reliable operation of large-scale on-site gas production equipment. Yingde Gases is the largest industrial gas producer in Asia.

Based on this maintenance management system, Yingde Gases decided to aggressive deploy Siveco China’s mobile solution bluebee® for inspections. The goal was to expand the management oversight through the EMM system by incorporating on-site work by O&M teams.

Until now, bluebee® has been put into operation at sixteen Yingde Gases plants. As a result, inspection work can now be carried out effectively in bluebee® and the decision makers using the centralized EMM benefit from accurate, real-time, field data. Nine more plants will go live before the end of this year.
