Committed to China and the Belt & Road

Dear Reader,

It was my great honor to conclude this year’s Siveco China customer event in Kunshan on November 13. In true Siveco fashion, we let our customers speak at the event! Many thanks to those who shared their experience, their success with our approach, which combines maintenance know-how and innovative tech. In my ending speech, I also highlighted our continuing commitment to the Chinese market.

As French author Victor Hugo said “A revolution is a return from the fictitious to the real”. We have known the 4.0 hype and the disillusion that high tech cannot solve all the problems… Too often, it does not solve any problem at all. To this, comrade Lenin gives a solution: “Without revolutionary theory, there is no revolutionary movement”. Which is why we at Siveco insist on the theory: maintenance know-how and using the ISO 55000 standard, among others, to design our solutions and to drive customer projects.

It works! During the seminar we listened to success stories and benefited from insights by seven clients (Baosteel Gases, Yingde Gases, Essilor, Saint Gobain Pipelines, Smart Factory Kunshan – our host for the day, Tanyo Nippon Sanso, GSN Property Services), but our annual customer satisfaction survey also shows statistics of the results obtained. End-users themselves give positive feedback about this approach. It works also because we take part in the great dynamics of China’s development: the China Dream, the infrastructures buildup, increasingly strict regulations aimed at sustainability, digitalization and the Belt & Road (as shown in this month’s article dedicated to the Brazilian power market).

I wanted to emphasize here that, in these uncertain times, Siveco remains more committed than ever to the Chinese market:

We have released the new version of our bluebee® product suite, code-named bluebee® X, officially presented during the Kunshan event but already used by three clients. Since 2008, Siveco develops solutions in our Shanghai R&D center and our R&D budget increases every year. The new generation bluebee® X incorporates the unparalleled experience acquired by Siveco and the latest available technologies, into an IoT-native, mobile-driven, future-proof platform.

In response to increasing demand from Industrial SMEs (Small and Mid-size Enterprises) this year, we have dedicated additional investment in 2020 to develop the bluebee® “club”, a solution based on our latest tech, packaged for the needs and constraints of SMEs.

In February, at the top of the COVID-19 crisis in China, our shareholders have approved special funds for us to make acquisitions in China and Southeast Asia. Discussions have taken place but most likely this will happen in 2021.

Many of you have noticed how active Siveco was in the past few months, with more marketing activities, more projects, than ever before, in a market where several CMMS providers have recently disappeared and where most suppliers have obviously cut their expenses! Siveco China is and has been for many years the largest Siveco office worldwide. We are by far the largest player in the Chinese market. For this, I thank all our customers, with very special thanks to our speakers in the Kunshan event! Many thanks to our host the Smart Factory Kunshan, a brilliant example of industrial SME, with a highly innovative business model. Last but not least, I thank my great Siveco team!
