Visit report: touchscreen paperless risk prevention at Carrefour

On January 30, the Science and Technology Office of the French Embassy in China led a delegation of industry leaders to visit the Carrefour COS (Central Operation & Security) center located in Shanghai. Charlotte Gandon, Loss Prevention Director of Carrefour China, gave a tour of the facility and conducted a demonstration of the Risk Prevention Management System (RPMS) supporting Carrefour operations across its 250+ stores nationwide.

Mrs. Gandon is conducting a demonstration of RPMS on both big screen and tablet

Powered by Siveco’s bluebee®, the award-winning RPMS features multiple large touch-screens providing real-time support for risk management, with store audits performed on tablets, an entirely paperless solution ensuring compliance with best practices. Carrefour China has been at the forefront of technological innovation for stores management in the group, with the RPMS an excellent showcase of how 4.0 or smart solutions help ensure the safety and security of consumers, employees and assets across many locations.

The demo was followed by a talk on innovation for industrial risk prevention and case studies presented by Bruno Lhopiteau, Managing Director of Siveco China, highlighting the experience of Baosteel Gases, Capital Water, Shanghai Shipping. Those clients were specifically chosen to emphasize how assets management and industrial risk prevention have now become priorities for Chinese firms and how large touchscreen and paperless solutions are quickly becoming the norm. Siveco China has pioneered the development of such solutions, setting up a dedicated R&D center, known as the bluebee® lab, in Shanghai in 2008.
